On Mondays we review Table Manners at our house during Family Dinner. Although I have taught my kids all of my Table Manner Lessons, we are far from perfect. We still need reminders and reviews. Sometimes we just talk about the manners and other times we play games like 5 Pennies
Everyone remembers (in a negative way) the person that did not treat them the right way or did not act the right way. Your reputation is all you have and it is critical to maintain it in a positive way. You want people to think of you in a positive light and much of that has to do with the way you treat them and your actions.
As we all know that Good Manners is very important part of our life. Having good manners is all about respecting others and yourself. Good manners can help you to have better relationships with people you know, and those you will meet. Manners are to be taught. When children are very young, they want to do anything you ask. We have to grab the opportunity to teach appropriate behavior. When children are polite, kind and honest, they develop character — and also make their parents look good!
Why manners are important for kids. The largest group of respondents said their main reason was “to give my kids a stronger moral compass to guide them in this ‘freewheeling’ world,” the Web site says. The second reason on the list was parents’ exposure to “other kids with bad behavior” — making those parents determined that their own children never act like that. Coming in third was the belief that “increasing global competition makes me want to prepare my kids” for a competitive working world.
So what do these parents mean by good manners? The more popular answers were: treating adults with respect; saying please and thank you; sending handwritten thank-you notes for gifts; and not talking with your mouth full.

The most basic thing you should teach your child is to have respect for other people, this starts initially in your own home. The home is where a child’s world mostly revolves and their parents are the main people they interact with, especially if they are not yet going to school. Everything that happens at home, every attitude and behavior that the parents show affect and influence the child’s behavior. It’s as simple as this, if you show patience and respect for your child, they in return will show patience and respect toward you
